The papers contain course notes Aydelotte made while a student at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing as well as honors and awards she received during her career; notes and correpondence pertaining to her independent consulting practice as well as to the advisory and editorial boards on which she served; papers Aydelotte gave at conferences, workshops, and seminars and their related correspondence; and administrative papers, committee materials, and other. materials related to her service with the Army Nurse Corps and with her employment with the State University of Iowa College of Nursing, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and the Veterans Administration. The papers also include materials relating to her involvement in professional organizations, most notably the American Nurses Association, the National League for Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau; papers Aydelotte wrote for publication together. with notes and drafts from her extensive research studies as well as associated correspondence with co-authors, editors, and publishers; and photographs of Aydelotte with other nurses and of early graduating classes of the University of Iowa College of Nursing.
